| At the world's largest boating show in Duesseldorf the European Boat of the Year Awards were announced by the jury composed of editors from 11 leading European boating media.
Greenline 33 Hybrid was awarded for its innovative concept. The new boat brand from Seaway surprized the boating world by its environmental friendliness, efficiency in the use of energy, and comfort. The series production started, and there are 60 preorders on hand. The hybrid (diesel-electric) drive system coupled to a photovoltaic roof enables the small yacht to consume up to four times less fossil fuel in a boating season than comparable planing powerboats. Seaway closely worked with companies like Volkswagen Marine, Kokam, Iskra and Bisol in the 2 year development of the Greenline 33 Hybrid.
